John Massey Wright
John Massey Wright was born at Pentonville, England in 1773. In 1808 he began to exhibit at the Royal Academy. In 1820 he turned to watercolor and was elected a member of the Old Society. Three of his watercolor works hang at South Kensington gallery. He is perhaps best known for his book illustrations, including the original Treasure Island. He died in his ninety-third year, 1866.
