Street the gangster came head to head with a cable car. He swerved right and the Pierce-Arrow behind him veered left, forcing on coming traffic to hug the curb to get out of the madmen’s way. Several cars lost some paint in the process. Getting back on their own side of the street, Joseph closed on the pug’s car. The four cylinder roadster was hopelessly out classed by the more powerful machine chasing it.

"Come alongside." James Henry opened the door and stepped out on the running board.

"Whata’ doin’?!" Joseph demanded in a panic.

It was too late for him to pull away, so he veered into the roadster allowing his reckless charge to make an easier leap. Perched on the running board, the pavement speeding beneath him, James Henry jumped head first, landing on - then bouncing off the back seat. He ended up fumbling around on the rear floorboards while trying to fend

off the gangster's awkward back handed blows. The fellow grabbed up the money bag and tried to use it as a sap. Finally getting his feet under him, James Henry came up behind the blaggard and wrapped his arms around the villain's neck in a clumsy headlock.

The poor sot could not drive and repel James Henry at the same time; and meanwhile his face was turning blue. He let up on the gas, stomped on the brake, and let go of the steering wheel needing two hands to pull his tormentor over the top of him. No go. The choker was too tall to flip, and the choked did not have near enough weight to break away. The pug knew the game was up.

Surprise! The pressure suddenly vanished. The villain gasped for air while James Henry, spotting the invariable collision with the garbage truck, ducked down behind the seat. By the time the battered crook saw what was coming, the hood of the roadster was sliding under the truck bed
